History
Yuffie is the direct decendant of a tradition-bound ninja clan - but she could care less about "tradition." She forcefully joins AVALANCHE, hoping to use them to obtain as much materia as possible. She is sly and completely self-centered, and her young age leads to brash decision-making and tumultuous relationships.
By the age of sixteen, Yuffie had grown to disrespect her father, contemptuous of his ways, and chafing at the restrictions against materia, a tool that would have saved her people from their low status and dishonour. Just as Midgar suffered the bombings of AVALANCHE and the fall of the plate, Yuffie left her homeland for Junon, in search of ways to single-handedly bring back her honour as a Wutain.
After the events in 'Final Fantasy VII', Yuffie attempted to keep the group together, considering them her family. When she was unsuccessful, she returned to Wutai with her Materia for Godo, although she frequently made excursions outside Wutai in order to catch up with old friends or find new treasures. She spent her time there teaching the children martial arts, and so noticed when they started disappearing before the events of 'Advent Children'. After Geostigma was cured and the children returned, she left Edge with the Wutain children and returned to her home. A short while after, she was contacted by Reeve Tuesti and joined the World Regenesis Organisation.

Materia: Two Speed Plus (Mastered), Steal (Mastered) linked with HP Absorb, Lightning linked with Added Effect (In Weapon). Leviathan Summon linked with Final Attack.
What This All Means In The Room: Her weapon has the power to become stronger based on how powerful the person she's fighting is. That translates mainly as it becoming sharper and lighter if the person has combat ability. Conversely, it will become weaker and heavier if the person isn't powerful in terms of the weapon's limited ability. Her armour can withstand physical attacks, if she can get her wrist up and in the way of the weapon or attack in time. It can absorb elemental attacks, effectively halving their effectiveness. She is equipped with accessories and materia that increase her speed dramatically (Haste and a 140% Materia increase), and some that make her able to steal from people and creatures with a great deal of competency. If she does steal from someone, she also takes some of their life force (about 5%). Not enough to really harm them, and easily recovered by rest or nutrition. Her dexterity is also slightly increased, and she can cast Lightning Magic spells and summon the Wutain 'god' Leviathan, a water-type serpent who generates massive tidal waves in any setting. If she is killed, Leviathan will be summoned before she disappears.
Appearance
Yuffie is short, slender, and probably not likely to grow much further that her height of five-foot-two. In accordance with her agile and darting combat style, her clothing is minimal while still remaining casual. She has grey eyes and jaw-length dark-brown hair.
Her bandana has been in place since she was a child, and she plans to keep it that way ever since she decided you couldn't see the view from the mountains properly if your hair was in your eyes all of the time.
